Cool stuff, do you have any advice on picking colors?

For images like this I try to add as few colors as I possibly can. this image contains exactly 4 different colors.
For choosing which colors to use, thats a bit trickier. I generally just start by putting a color as the background, and placing colors on top of that background until I see one or two that look good together.
